As a RESNET Accredited CEQ Provider, Green Training USA is responsible for:

  • Verifying your company information including insurance and individual credentials

  • Managing a RESNET approved Complaint Resolution Process
  • Making sure you have and are utilizing all the appropriate forms and notices required by RESNET Standards

Why You Need to Be EnergySmart

RESNET EnergySmart Contractor is a company designation. One employee must complete the required training and pass the exam for the company to qualify (see Training & Requirements). As an EnergySmart Contractor, you can join RESNET EnergySmart Home Performance Teams to provide homeowners with a complete solution and verifiable energy savings.

Increased Credibility

Your EnergySmart Contractor designation tells consumers that you're a nationally certified professional, you understand energy efficiency, and you can keep them comfortable and reduce their energy expenses. You get third-party credibility as a member of RESNET, a national non-profit organization whose standards are recognized by the Department of Energy (DOE), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the US mortgage industry. A credible way to separate your company from your competition.

Informed Consumers are Demanding It

As industry support grows, informed consumers are demanding contractors with training and certification in energy efficiency. Homeowners are choosing contractors that have a greater understanding of their home and their goals, over those who lack the education and knowledge and can't provide a complete solution.

High Quality Referrals

You will be eligible to join RESNET EnergySmart Home Performance Teams - working with energy auditors and raters to maximize a home's energy efficiency. They are trusted advisors to homeowners, and the leads they generate are highly qualified leads.

Compete on Knowledge and Solutions Instead of Price

By competing on knowledge, training and energy savings rather than price, you should be able to increase your closing ratios and improve your margins. Your RESNET membership includes marketing materials to help you market your EnergySmart Contractor designation.

Be Ready for Legislation

Legislation has been recently introduced in Congress, such as the 25E Tax Credit and the HOMES Act, which require certification for your work to qualify. The draft legislation includes RESNET EnergySmart Home Performance Teams as qualified service providers. As a RESNET EnergySmart Contractor, you are eligible to join Home Performance Teams and benefit from the legislation. Be ready instead of playing catch-up!

Industry Supports It

Major industry associations (NARI, ACCA, NATE, ICAA), large box stores and reputable manufacturers (including, but not limited to GAF, Icynene, CertainTeed, Dow Building Solutions, Lennox) are actively supporting the RESNET EnergySmart Contractor designation.
