This course is a foundational course for those wanting to obtain radon measurement licensure or certification and will provide the training needed pass the National Radon Proficiency Program (NRPP) Measurement Certification exam. Upon completion of this course, participants will be eligible to take the Measurement Certification exam.

This course focuses on understanding the basics of radon gas and the EPA Guidelines for testing for radon in the home in both real estate and non-real estate settings. After taking the course you will have an understanding of radioactivity and radioactive decay, radon sources and behavior, the health effects of radon, how different radon measurement devices work and how to place them properly, QA/QC, radon in water and an overview of mitigation.

The online quizzes, downloadable study guide, workbook, and other materials help you prepare to take and pass the National Radon Proficiency Program (NRPP) Measurement Certification exam.

Matt Koch has been involved in the environmental inspection and mitigation industry for over 15 years. He has been active in the radon community as a practitioner and instructor. He is on the Standards Committees for Radon Resistant New Construction in Residential (CCAH), RRNC for Large Buildings (CC-1000) and Multifamily Measurement (MAMF) and currently is the Chair of the Standards Management Committee. He was involved in the development of the NRPP Advanced Certificates in Multifamily Measurement, Multifamily Mitigation and RRNC.
