RESNET Combustion Safety & Work Scope Training

HERS Raters and Rating Field Inspectors were required to pass the RESNET Combustion Safety & Work Scope Written Exam and the RESCaz Simulated Practical Exam before December 31, 2014 in order to maintain their Rater Certification. 

This requirement extends to ENERGY STAR Version 3 homes in accordance with the HVAC System Quality Installation Rater Checklist as well as to EnergySmart Contractor projects.

Field training is required for certified HERS Raters unless they hold a current BPI Building Analyst Certification.

RESNET Exams

Both options above include the RESNET Combustion Safety Written Exam and RESCaz Simulated Practical exams. The written exam is 25 questions and requires a passing grade of 80% or better. The simulation exam requires a minimum score of 85%.

Course Access

Immediately upon registration, you will receive an email with login credentials to our Online Learning Center. You can start the course at any time.

Because we are required to manually process your enrollment into the RESCaz simulator you will receive your login credentials for this system Monday-Friday between 9am and 5pm Mountain Standard Time.
